Life is a fickle mistress, matters that were of the utmost importance to us at one moment will fade into oblivion the next. For many decades I have steered my life on what I believe matters, money, prestige, status, but it all fades away... 

Many people camped outside stores when the original Apple iPhone came to stores but now those very same phones that were the epitome of success at the time are lying in a landfill somewhere.

Nothing in this life lasts... Nothing save one. While fame and fortune comes and goes the people we encounter on a daily basis are eternal beings. Their souls are in this battleground called Earth and there are opposing forces vying for their salvation or their eternal destruction. It's time I stop participating as a bystander!

Over the decades I have committed my life to various causes:

To the United States Army,

To the Federal Government,

To North Carolina State University,

Now, its about high-time I commit to something that matters, to something that is eternal, to something that can change this world. It's about high-time I commit to Jesus.

So with this commitment to the World Race, I give up a year of my life and put my "Yes" on the table. I am easily the worst Christian to have ever gone on the World Race but Jesus can use me all the same. I am Giving Up On Life to achieve a purpose that is far bigger than I could ever realize on my own.
